Unfortunately, not everyone was counted in the earlier censuses.

I found Benjamin Fariolia in the 1840 census also. (That is the right one.)

In the 1820 New York City Directory by William A. Mercer I found
"Farriolus, Benj. - art. flowers - 53 Division" that is probably a Latinized version of his name since anything Latin was **SPAM** in 1820.

I have not gotten back to the Library yet to find more.
