I have no possibility of to check abt thaqt.. also be4cause I no found the Gioacchino 1910 census... however if he worked in railroad, he worked after 1918, because on this record, the his profession is "miner machine man" if I read well
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... cc=1968530
I believe he made several works, especially in the first years that he stayed in USA...

John was a Miner in 1918. I had heard from my cousin that he had worked on the railroad when he met my grandmother in 1912 and that is how he met her is when the railroad came thru her town so just wondering if there was a record of that.

If we send a letter to Italy and ask them all the Giovanni's that were born on March 25, 1882, will they send us a list of everyone?

In Italy, the Civil Records Official ( in Town Hall) don't make the search.. if you ask a birth certificate, and you provide the data, well the Civil Records Official check the data on original birth registry and if all right, to issue the birth certificate..

Now abt your ancestor: I believe that Giovanni was not his real first name...
and the birth day -or the birth month- could be a bit wrong.. who know...
I believe that the best way is to search by yourself in Guarcino civil records microfilms https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... %20Library

Unfortunately there are no 1882 birth records of Guarcino on those films

I think the name is Gioachino Infussi and the town is Guarcino also Infussi and Furia are both surnames from that Guarcino

Is there any records of the names of italians that came over in 1901 that would have been hired by the railroad from Ellis Island?
