Tessa, can you look at the birth record for a Pasquale Biondo that I found on page 222? It's record 198.

I wanted to post to let you know I haven't forgotten about you. Tonight or tomorrow I'm going to take a look again to see if I can find anything in the online records for Cefalu about Nicolo.

Have you had any success searching yourself and do you have any questions about the record formats or search techniques?

Biff
I have a basic knowledge of Spanish so that has helped me to decipher the necessary information. Details I would still need translating but I can read names, dates, numbers etc well enough. Also the link you provided has helped a lot. I'm just glad my ancestor was named Nicolo and not Salvatore bc O-M-G almost every year there were at least 6 Salvatore Brocatos born...

Tessa I'm assuming you've been doing this longer than I so forgive me ignorance but if you were researching and saw this would you think this is the birth record for the Pasquale who was my great great grandfather? The age doesn't add up (in 1900 my Pasquale said he was 31. Would have been born in 1969)

Hi. We were looking in 1875 for Nicolo Brocato. This was the year he stated as his birth year on his ww1 us draft register.

From the "better late than never" department...

The Pasquale who was born in 1864 died 11 July 1864 (record 192, "page" 418 of Morti 1862-1885):
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

There is a second birth entry for Pasquale Biondo (record 289, "page" 1461); same parents, with a birth date of 30 October 1868. It is very hard to read:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

The birth transcript from his marriage allegati is much easier on the eyes:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613

This should solve your "1864 vs. 1869?" birth year issue.
