Gotta run.....off to work.........

I just had a question about how the census works, because in the 1930 census the second child, Anna did not show up. When you get married does that mean you no longer show up in the census with your immediate family? Because I think Anna was married in 1930. Also is it possible to get a hold of any census between the years 1912-1923? I believe that there was a girl names Maria who died in 1923 but I wanted to be sure.VaDeb wrote:The following comes from http://stevemorse.org/brooklyn/brooklyn.html

If she was no longer living at that particular address, her name will not show up...I just had a question about how the census works, because in the 1930 census the second child, Anna did not show up. Yes, I figured that he married the following year (1907)... I did notice that on the manifest there was a ditto "" "" mark for "married" left by the record keeper... and that is why I was unsure as to whether he is your ancestor. This manifest does match up a lot. I think the age he came over is only off by one, bit that could be right too. The only thing is I don't think he was married yet when he came over. According to the 1930 census he was married at the age of 29... but yet there is a story that my great-Aunt told me about how she heard that he was married and had a family that he left behind in Italy. He then came to America and started another family. I don't know if that is even possible, but strangely enough it is all lining up.
