Derivative Citizenship...a problem?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

thank you all for your help and comments. i have posted to expat and italiangenealogy.com and have received many response. the one common thread is that no one is exactly sure. but i do appreciate the time people have taken to chime in.

it is frustrating to say the least and my son is going to touch base with the general manager today to see if he might be able to facilitate the process in italy for him if we can get him there.

i was also told to speak with a person at the consulate who has looked over the paperwork and if he will take what we have sent then the general manager will call there to see if he can push things along. I did receive a document from uscis that stated a granting of derivative citizenship through the father in 1941 so maybe that will help even if i do not have the certified document yet from MO.

we are Yankee fans as well but next year is a long time away and disappointment will make it seem much longer....i will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

THANK YOU ALL

Update and please help. The consulate looked over my son's paperwork and say that dual citizenship can be granted based on the cancellation of his gggf's naturalization. The problem is that they now want additional information. The birth and marriage certificates of the great great grandparents from Italy and I need this fast. what is the fastest way i can get all this?

Also, as you can see earlier posts, i have Felice's passport application but they want a uscis search for application of citizenship. i do not think she formally applied because her passport application says that the documentation she provided was her husbands naturalization. Am i wrong? or would she had to have filed an application for naturalization.

in the passport application documents the second to last page is her marriage certificate. i guess this would help me in getting the information on this faster from Italy?

Re: Derivative Citizenship.......PLEASE Help

i need help. i need to contact the commune in Lercare for the birth certificate of Domenico Marvagna 12/25/1879,Felice Nunzia 2/8/1884 and their marriage certificate from September of 1902. the information of the marriage cert is contained in the passport application on prior posts. Where can i write or fax a request to them and how do i go about doing that? Also, please take a look at Felice Marvagna's passport application contained in the posts. Doesnt this indicate that she got citizenship through the naturalizaion of her husband? Im a little confused but i do not think that she applied on her own anywhere....
