If Father Attilio will reply we can have a better idea.. however I found his email address : attiliofabris @ libero.it (without spaces, I wrote with spaces for spam cause)

maybe you can send the same message also by email ( email subject the same as box 3)

That email address bounced my email on both requests. I copied it directly from the page you linked :(

Ah! I am now a rookie instead of a newbie! :)

I received new email back from Claudio after my response to his last email:
Wow, I wrote that email in 1999! But I did it for my father who didn't know how to use emails. He was a genealogist. I have put in familysearch More than half a million names that had been found by him. But I've never found a single one in my life :)
I really would not know where to start. But I might ask somebody if they would be willing to help.

Which languages do you read and write?

hmmm... bothe the email to Father attilio back to you? hmm...
Abt Claudio reply, now I understand, the hist father was a genealogist !
Maybe he can help equally.. because you need of a helper on place... ! Someone that search in the archive of Genova in these records

Liste di leva
Liste di estrazione - quadri generali
Registri sommari

http://www.archivi-sias.it/scheda_DatoI ... e=90113125
if no most damaged ..

or to search in Borzonasca civil records ( starting after 1866) if it could be possible to find Maddalena Gardi death record.. if yes that confirm Borzonasca/Borzone as birthplace and then to make the request for the baptism certificate ... Hoping in a help!

Claudio reply: "If you want I can suggest you someone who might do researches for you, for money.
Her name his Fujhika Tinoko and her e-mail is fujhika_88@live.it
Contact her if you wish
Best regards
Claudio"

Maybe we leave that as last resort...

Yes, the email to father Atillia came back error with email address :(

Wish I spoke Italian, I would just call direct and ask. I may start learning the language.

I wrote a long reply and disappeared! a mystery! However we can search by ourself in Borzonasca civil records microfilms on line .. just now I see that clicking on the camera icon it is possible to see on line https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... %20Library

abt Maddalena Gardi and Giovanni Lagomarsino; the Death records starting from 1867 and we must hope that they died in old age..
as a well to search in all records of all Lagomarsinos having same parents of your Paolo... I believe Borzonasca right place....
It is a bit long but better to make so...

Finding a link with our Paolo in Borzonasca civil records it is possible to make a formal request in the Church.. otherwise to continue the search... best,

Thank you again for all your help! :) I wish I was in Genova so I could do more research. I just have this feeling the Parrish they were in was very very small and won't be online.

Finishing one more 1870 before bed..

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346

Another Lagomarsino. Pretty sure that record says Gisuppe Lagomarsino somewhere in it too?

Finished:

Morti, 1870
Granite Mountain Record Vault
International Digital
5502362

Going to bed now.

Am I searching the right things? All the years Morti would be safe. Just finished 1869+1870

oh yes, https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346
this is the Death record of widow of Andrea Lagomarsino; the informant was Giuseppe Lagomarsino 41 old son of living Giovanni Lagomarsino.. so born abt on 1829.... it is very interesting to find the name of Giovanni Lagomarsino...
I continue now abt 1871 deaths..

I read the 1871 Death records and nobody Lagomarsino;
1872:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346
Giovanni Lagomarsino 83 old, born in San Colombano Certenoli, resident and deceased in Caregli Sottano, Death record transcribed in Borzonasca, son of late Giuseppe Lagomarsino and of Geronima Devoto, husband of Agostina Massa...- this Giovanni was born in 1789... he can or could be the father of Paul... because in 1817 he was abt 28 old, so he can be... but the wife have another name, no Maddalena Gardi... maybe Agostina was the second wife of Caregli...

We are sure seeing a lot of Lagomarsino... I will check some more years when I'm off work. Thanks for you digging in and searching with me. If you complete anymore years please post here so we don't double work! :)

I love reading Lagomarsino name. Why haven't we seen a Gardi yet... Could we have got her name wrong somehow.

I ended the 1872 Death.
I found that Giovanni Lagomarsino deceased on 1872 had a son:
Giovanni named also deceased in 1905... and son also of Agostina Massa.. so in 1838 the Giovanni sr was married at Agostina.... :(
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346
I don't found a Gardi or a Gardini people in Borzonasca... but Borzonasca seeming the only probable birthplace, by what stated Paolo on the US documents... I hope to find some clue...

James:
abt the record in my post (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... at=1911346 ) well I read better the record:
Giambattista Lagomarsino (82 old in 1867 so born abt on 1785) husband of Maddalena Brizzolara, alive (so she deceased after 1867).
What is interesting .. ? It is the fact that Giambattista was resident in Borzone and deceased in Borzone, in the district called Pateni( spell?) in the house called "of marzin".

A informant was Giovanni Lagomarsino 26 old, son of Giuseppe, and resident in Borzone also, relative of deceased ...

I knew in my heart that in Borzone was the Lagomarsinos... and that is true... But
the only discrepance is the maiden name of Maddalena... I hope to find the death record of Maddalena Brizzolara also...
I don't know how much accurate was the infos said from Paul on US documents... the search in the military records was my dream, but the Archive cannot help, so we must make all by ourself... but I believe right my intuition..
