Re: Searching for information on living relatives!
I'm sorry, but what are you asking? I don't see a question. Are you trying to find a particular living relative, or just any living relatives that you might have? If it's the latter, have you already done an AncestryDNA test?

Re: ITALIAN POW -WWII- looking for son
Thanks for the reply. No I have not made any progress. I stopped searching as it seem impossible.
I'm curious as to whether or not you have taken a DNA test through Ancestry or other sites? It is obviously a longshot, but, if you come up with a reasonably close, but unknown, match on your ...

Re: Imbalance in parental DNA matches on Ancestry..?
I have far more matches on my maternal (Irish/Hungarian) side than my paternal (Italian). I've simply chalked it up to the gross pool of testees. Anyone's # of DNA matches is entirely dependent on who chooses to test.
In my case, on my Italian side there is very little mystery (more or less) as to ...

Re: RE: RESTORATION OF INK FADED DOCUMENTS

Re: RE: HOW TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT???
i've searched all options here as well. nothing i can see. even sent a message to the administrators with no response. just want to wipe it clean and maybe reopen a new account as lots of dead wood in over 10 years of posts. very unusual as most sites have a mechanism to delete an account.
I ...

Re: RE: HOW TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT???
I saw your previous post and I apologize, I thought that I replied to you. I have to say that I searched the site pretty thoroughly, at least I believe it to have been pretty thoroughly, and unless the method for doing so is hiding in plain sight, I couldn't seem to find any mechanism for deleting ...

Re: Private Family Trees
What does "private" mean?
Limited information about deceased individuals in your tree (name, birth year, and birthplace) will still appear in Ancestry search results. However, no one can view your actual tree without your permission. If another member wants to view your tree, they can contact you ...

Re: Bevilacqua's from Introdacqua
Hi there,
I don't have any specific information for you, but there are Bevilacquas in the Steubenville, Ohio area. I don't personally know them or where they were originally from, but you might search around for them and see if you can find some contact info. Good luck!

Re: Private Family Trees
I am wondering why people are so unhelpful on Ancestry? What is the point of even being on there if you refuse to reply, let alone provide any helpful information, even to a close genetic relative/DNA match? It is VERY frustrating.
Fear, for the most part. Too many people are afraid someone ...

FYI
from familysearch.org website
"In general, the church began keeping records in 1563 because of reforms proclaimed at the Council of Trent. Not all parishes conformed until much later. Most parishes have kept registers from about 1595 to the present. A few parishes kept records as early as ...

Birth or Baptism records in Chieti ca. 1475-1530
Hello! I am wondering if records would exist, and how I might find them, of births/baptisms/marriages for the cognome 'Lamatrice' or 'Della Matrice' in Chieti during the years 1475-1530.
Thank you in advance!

Re: Census Completeness and Accuracy
Great questions. I have no answers.
I found my paternal grandparents on the 1950 Census, and I can tell you that my grandfather's age and place of birth were both incorrect. His error? The census taker's? Again, no answer.

Re: Using DNA Matches
With limited and notable exceptions, my DNA matches on Ancestry have been of very little utility. The matches that could prove most helpful, have kept their trees private and have been entirely unresponsive to inquiries.

Re: Totally unexpected Italian paternal ancestry
Hello and thanks again for your advice. I feel like I'm looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack, but I must persevere. I'm trying to see what could be the connection between the large US family group in my top contacts who are descendants of the original Italian immigrant couple (I know ...
