Valerie,
Thanks for finding the census..I just found it too! I never noticed the M1 part though. I'll look into that but as far as I know, he was just married once. Just found John's brothers family yesterday and they confirmed he never married again.

Peter Naccarato married Vincenza's (Venice on the 1910 census) sister Teresa Macchione. Haven't got all the info on them yet, but apparently the Naccaratos were a group of five famous brothers from Grimaldi Cosenza, who helped build up Idaho. One of the Naccarato's, Joe and his wife Teresa, were godparents of my grandmother.

Just got home from my mothers. She had a picture of John all along and didn't even know. It was stamped by a photographer in Trinidad Colorado and my sister had it put in with her husbands things assuming it was someone on his side. See...it pays to snoop sometimes!

Thanks again!

My sister just sent down a "memory" card of my grandmother Fuda. We were always told her name was Caterina Fuda and that nonno was Bruno Angilletta. Nonnas real name was Domenica Caterina and Nonnos name was Francesco Bruno. It seems both my grandparents went by their middle names. Believe it or not, not even Dad knew this or if he did, didn't remember until we pointed it out to him.

Nonno was from Ardore, RC but I'm not sure about Nonna(Mammola maybe?).

I'm going to have to review all the manifests I've viewed over the last 4 months to see if anything clicks with this now. I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me on this one!

Thanks
Nuccia :)

Hi again :P , back to square... normal in research...

I hope to make a better effort here with your family line... just had a crazy few days...

Just to recap... and a couple of questions...

What was Domenica Caterina Fuda's birthdate?

Her father was Enrico Fuda, maybe from Mammola Italy

Husband Francesco Bruno Angilletta - born appr. 1896, died Jan 22, 1989)

From Ardore, RC

Domenica Caterina's children were:

Maria
Cosimo (b: 1925- d:1995 in Toronto)
Angela
Rocco (died in 1994 in Guardavalle, Cat)
Concietta
Damiano (b:1932)

She was married twice. So, ??? Angilletta was her first husband, first child died, first husband died, and then she remarried Francesco Bruno Angilletta, the brother of her first husband.

Is this still correct?

maria :P

still editing this... and one more thing, where in the USA or Canada did they first settle in... lost track...

Hi Maria,

Domenica Caterina Fuda born Aug 24, 1889 in Mammola (possibly) died Mar 14, 1975 in Locri, Italy.

First marriage to ? Angilletta from Ardore, Reggio, son of Rocco Angilletta.

One child born: Enrica (Enricchetta) between 1915 and 1918. ? Angilletta died in WW1.

Francesco Bruno Angilletta, born 23 Mar 1885 in Ardore, Reggio, also son of Rocco and brother to the first Angilletta married Domenica Caterina in the commune prior to 1920. He died 23 Jan 1989 in Locri, Reggio.

Six children born of this marriage:

Angelina, Maria, Rocco,Concetta, Cosimo and Damiano.

Rocco, and Cosimo are deceased, Enrica is alive in Reggio Calabria but well into her 90's and Angelina is terminally ill in La Spezia, Italy. Maria, Concetta and worst of all my Dad,( Damiano), remember almost NOTHING until you wave it under their noses. (Selective memory or just old age, maybe).

Hopefully, we can work with some of this. And yes, I have to order films BUT I have to find out from where first! Besides, the way everyone uses middle names in this family, Enrico may be a middle name too!

Yes, we saw this one too. Bruno's father was Giuseppe in PA, right? 506 Grand St, if I remember correctly. But, I can't find Giuseppe or Bruno...I think I'm too close to it and have definitely missed something here. I remember dad talking about a Bruno in Pittsburg when I was younger but he doesn't remember that now. Only remembers an Angilletta in Pittsburg.

Theres a manifest of Salvatore Fuda from Mammola that has me curious...The name on the going to see line is Orazio Tito. I remember this name from one of the Angilletta manifests I think (but can't find it now). I can't find this person of interest but if I did I think it may say something. Any thoughts?

Nuccia & Maria
I took a few minutes to summarize all the manifests that have
you have already located and posted in this thread.
I hope this helps eliminate duplication.

Valerie,

Thanks so much for posting all that! It does help! I had forgotten alot of it and needed to keep reading the thread back and forth.

I think I'm going to follow (and please feel free to jump in and help me):

Domenico FUDA b1865 (joining b-i-l Giuseppe ANGILLETTA in PA)
24 Mar 1904
Ship Liguria

Francesco (Frank Fuda) coming in 1906 born 15 Mar 1889, father Nicodemo and settling in PA and the Illinois
Frank's brother Domenico

Bruno ANGILETTA b1904
23 Feb 1920
Ship Duca degil Abruzzi

I stopped looking for a while at this because as I said earlier, I think I was just too close to it but maybe now I can zero in on things better.

Thanks for the help!

Nucci (another alias or quick fingers?)
Do you have all the PA Census - besides the 1900 for Joseph Angellito
in Big Beaver?

Sory Val,

Quick fingers...although there were several Nucci's in my father (maybe thats where I got the nickname when I was a child)..I would edit but...

Funny, I viewed a lot of the census but don't remember any! I am literally starting over as things that didn't make sense before might make sense now. Been concentrating on the Polito surname most of the time because of better information provided to me by my mother.

Feel free to post whatever you find. I will be grateful. Sometimes an outsider sees clearer!

Thanks

Nuccia,
I've found the 1930 Pittsburgh Census for Joseph ANGILLETTA

Joseph AUGILLITTA 54 yrs immig 1905 Al
Owns House on Repello? St, Pittsburgh 18th Ward, Allegheny, PA
wife Josephina 50 yrs immig 1920 (see below) Al
son Bruno 25 yrs immig 1920 Na
d-i-l Rose 25 yrs immig 1912 Na
Gdaughter Josephine M 5mos born PA

I had no luck finding Joseph until I went back to Bruno's Manifest that Maria posted earlier today.
Bruno was on page 58, his mother was on page 52
I used Giuseppa's (Josephine) information to find the Census

23 Feb 1920
Ship Duca Degil Abruzzi
Giuseppa Angigliatta RUBINO
42 years old b. abt 1877
Last Address Ardore (Regio Calabria)
Relative in Italy Father Rocco (should be f-i-l?)
Going to Husband Giuseppe Angiglietta
at 507 First Ave, Pittsburgh (Allegheny, PA)
Born in Ardore

That's it, it's easier to find stuff when I can build on Maria's
& your research!

Hope this helps!
