Wow that’s is very interesting as Salvatora did mention about the two younger children and only that they died at a young age. Can you confirm this please. Also did all the family go by the family name BAJELI as my father and uncle who gave both passed went by BAELI instead here in Australia.

Thank you so very much Tess78.

The spelling of the surname is Baeli. I think the spelling in earlier records with a "j" (which is actually a long "i") was an error by the clerk.

Here is death act of Giuseppe. He died in 1931 at age 6 months.

Here is the death of Nunzio in 1934. His surname is given as Bajeli... However, in the margin is an annotation from the courts in 1936, correcting his surname to BAELI in this record.

Death of Giuseppa in 1933 at age 1 year.

This is so revealing. I did not know about the two young children passing away as I suppose it was not spoken of back then. My zia Salvatore passed some years ago in Roccella Valdemone, married like you said but childless . My zio Alfio immigrated to Australia to be with my father and had four boys. My parents only had me.

I don’t know if there are any blood relatives still in Roccella. Would I need to find out if my grandfather Nunzio BAELI had any siblings from his father Carmelo BAJELI?

Very warm regards

This is exciting to find the tree. I only had minimal information that my father had other siblings and can understand maybe why it was not spoken of. I don’t know if there are any blood relations still in Roccella Valdemone as my zia Salvatora passed on quite a few years ago there and after being married was childless as her husband died very early in there marriage. My zip Alfio immigrated to Australia to be with my father. He had four boys here. My father only had me. Would I need to find out if my grandfather or great grandfather Nunzio or Carmelo BAELI (BAJELI) had siblings? I realise this is taking up a lot of your time and really do appreciate your efforts. Where are these records now stored? And can anyone get access? Warmest regards to all those assisting . Thank you Pina Beck

Here is a sister to Nunzio.
Carmela Baeli born April 1899.

The above Carmela must have died.
Here is another Carmela born August 1901.

Good morning Tessa78,

This has been so enlightening. From not really knowing much about my family to all this. I do recall my father speaking about an uncle named Salvatore and I believe I met him as he came to Australia many years ago. Does this name come up as a child of Carmelo Bajeli and Angela ?

You don’t know how much I appreciate you taking the time to reply and search for me.

I do not find a child of Carmela and Angela with the given name Salvatore.

The births (siblings of Nunzio) that I posted above...
and one more -
Birth of Giuseppe Baeli in November of 1910
#64
Father: Carmelo Baeli
Mother: Angela Lombardo
There is an annotation of marriage with Angela Mobilia in 1936 in Roccella V.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1887904

I checked births from 1894 through 1910 (the last year of online records)
