When applying for dual citizenship in NYC, do I need to get a certificate of good conduct for myself and my husband? My appointment is tomorrow and I just read this!!!
I don't think I'm prepared for tomorrow now
Thanks Roberta

Only if you are applying through marriage to an Italian citizen.roobyred wrote:When applying for dual citizenship in NYC, do I need to get a certificate of good conduct for myself and my husband? My appointment is tomorrow and I just read this!!!

Presuming you are applying for jure sanguinis recognition, your past conduct is immaterial; you either were or were not an Italian citizen from the moment of birth. You could conceivably be a convicted murderer serving a life sentence in prison and still assert your right to Italian citizenship by descent.
