Speeding up the citizenship process
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the comune where you want to apply for citizenship can request the records from the US Consulate thus, speeding up the process? Any thoughts on this???

Re: Document Translations
I had all my documents translated by myitaliancitizenship.com and they did a great job. When they were presented at the consulate, there were no problems. I think it cost about $25 per document page.

Re: Calabrian Dialect
nuccia,
You are right! The province and town are very important. Many towns that are right next to each other in the South speak different dialects. It is very hard to understand what they are saying. My family is from Spadola in the province of Vibo Valentia and I had a cousin that did not speak ...

Re: Calabrian Dialect
I have never come across any software for the Calabrian Dialect. I, myself, grew up with the dialect so I know how to speak it very well and that is because my mother and her brothers and sisters spoke it all the time and we learned as children. I think the only way you can learn it, is to either ...

Immigration records
I was wondering if anyone had experience with the US immigration office in locating naturalization records. I sent my request in over seven months ago and still haven't heard from them. Is this common? I do not believe my grandfather was naturalized because in the 1930 census he is listed as an ...

Re: Looking for Tassone's
Trish,
Thanks for your help. I was wondering how you found out Joseph Filardo was naturalized by 1930. I am looking to find out if my grandfather, Charles Galle sometimes spelled galley and galli was naturalized. He was also from Mineral Point, WI

The Pope's guards are from Switzerland and are all Roman Catholic. You can find a little information on them at this site:

Names of Parish Churches
Is there a web site to find out what Catholic Churches are in the comune of my ancestors? Also does anyone know the meaning of the surnames Gallé and Bertucci? These are surnames from Spadola, Italy in the province of Vibo Valencia. Thanks.
