Re: Contacting Churches in Italy

È falso che i parrocci non leggono le domande perché ci sono parrocci che rispondono (anche via e-mail).
Try to write to the bishop.

Veramente non ho detto che i parroci non leggono MAI le domande; ho solo detto che SPESSO mi è capitato che scrivendo ad un indirizzo e-mail trovato sul sito di una ...

Re: Contacting Churches in Italy

It often happens that churches have an e-mail address, but priests don't read it.

Re: Please translate two more marriage records

When I saw the second image I understood...
Vito was twice widower! So, the meaning is:
"Vito Baglio son of Vincenzo and Piera Finocchio, widower of Briganti Carmela and Marianna Cardella, with Giuseppa Lorino daughter of Giuseppe and Maria Governati"
and the second:

"Vincenzo Baglio son of Vito ...

Re: Alberto de Fonzo b 1690 Italy

According to Italian White Pages, "Monza" seems to be definitely a surname from Lombardia, very common indeed.
"De Fonzo" sounds a southern surname, even if it can also be found in he north, maybe because of immigration. It can also have various spellings (Di Fonzo, De Fonzi, Fonzo), so it becomes ...

I wouldn't say it's "Uva" either; it would look more something like "Nela". Still, "Uva" is present today in San Mango, but "Nela" is not...

Re: Birth Record needed from Naples, Italy

The site of Archivio di Stato di Napoli, about search of individuals, states exactly the same as they wrote in their e-mail, but it also adds that it is possible to turn "to Commune of Napoli, as they possess the same data, in digital format, with the possibility of immediate search".
So, may be if ...
