I understand how it works.
I also suppose in the center in Roma, where I was, they don't have the special viewer. However, I also asked them if I could take a picture of the screen of the "normal" microfilm viewer, but they said I couldn't. May be different centers have different rules...

I can't read the handwriting, but it seems like she had to pay taxes, so what is now called "Agenzia delle Entrate", let's say the Central Agency for Taxes (I couldn't say how it is called in the USA) wrote to the Commune of Napoli asking if she owned anything, and the Mayor answered she didn't.

If you just wanted to visit Positano, I'd tell you to go by plane to train and bus, or train and boat (depending on the season). That because you would also have a great problem for parking, there! But if you want to go round, and above all if you want to go to Calabria, I'd tell you to go by car ...
