Am looking for this name in the province of Catanzaro. Was looking for my gr-gr grandmother's birth records in the LDS files. Did not find a single Petello in that village. All records of the family state they were from Isca Sullo Ionio. Wonder why their names do not appear in any records.

Carmenuci was born I believe in Strongoli, Rogliano, Calabria about 1867. Giovanni was born September 9, 1874. His wife, Maria Teresa Varano was born May 16, 1885 in Isca Sullo Ionio Catanzaro. Giovanni and Carmenuci's parents were Marco Altomare and Maria Palazzo. I have found them in census ...

Looking for the birthplace of my grandfather, Giuseppe Cesari. Although he emigrated from Santo Stefano Messina, his ship record stated that he, his uncle, and mother came from Gioiosa Marea.
