Re: Unknown, abbreviated name

That was my guess but it was odd that there were so many so close together over a few years. I have seen Biagia a few times in the past.

Thank you.

Re: Help with handwriting, please

Yes, the name is spelled Guglielmo. The cousin they are going to see is Francesco Giustiniani. The name is found in Palermo. The female's name is Salatrice Mistretta. That surname is common in Palermo.

Unknown, abbreviated name

I'm into some records from the 1600s and I started running across these abbreviations which should be a name. They look like masculine and feminine forms of the same name. I'm seeing them often so it's a common given name.

Why would a surname be edited and change like this?

Attached is a 1771 birth record for Giovanni Maria Pianalto, born in Recoaro Terme, Vicenza. His descendants are Pianalto but his father Giovanni's surname is Brunialti (underlined) with Pianalto written above it in a different color. On the 1731 marriage record of his father Giovanni, his surname i...

Who is the widower?

I'm having trouble understanding if this is saying that Matteo is the widower of Anna Lucardi or his father, Giacomo Antonio is the widower.

Need help with names please

This is the marriage record for Antonio Zulpo and Maria [unknown]. The year is 1651. I don't understand the abbreviation for his father's name, and I don't know what Maria's father's name is. I'm very familiar with the first and last names used in the area (Recoaro Terme, Vicenza) so if someone can ...

Odd writing at end of year on only 11 records

Starting on record #84 and up to #95, "cinque" is missing from the end of the year and there is a tiny box drawn around "uno" and a I above. Does anyone understand what this is? The link below is to the record I wanted. She did die in 1905, correct? Thanks in advance. https://www...

Need help with Vincenzo's "nativo di" place.

It starts with an "R", and I've searched for various spellings that look like it could be but I'm not finding anything. It looks like it contains an à (accent a). https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/image-details?page=1&place=7061178&lifeEvent=102860&endDate=1864&st...

Re: Help with Names Please

Yes, they were the only Brunetti family who lived there and Silvio is buried there. Maybe he never was actually a member of that family.
