Tehmi and Sharon B,
I know we have shared in the past.
I have various Castellucci's in my tree, all from Sora.
I have some files from Anne Tatangelo relating to them in Sora.
My Castellucci's all arrived in Bham in approximate 1896.
I'll search some more to see if we have common names

Re: Cerrone's from Sora Ialy
Tehmi77,
I've been researching for a couple of years, in my case my first arrival ancestors came in 1896, others ancestors all quickly followed approximate 1900's.
Some were listed in the 1901 census, spelt incorrectly which makes things harder, also many anglicised there names to sound more English ...

Re: Cerrone's from Sora Ialy
I can't help you exactly, but my family were from Sora/Pescosolido and came to the UK B'ham at approx the same time.
Some of my descendents were Castellucci, could be related!
You can start a search in the UK 1911 census, to get more of a fix on their whereabouts.

Re: Cascarino/lanni
Mazzie,
My Aunt's maiden Name is Maria C Laurentini, who married Lois (Luigi) Lanni, she is the surviving 92 year old. Their son is Peter Lanni, whom I recently have been in contact to both.
Maria (Mary is living in Selly Oak Birmingham).

Re: Cascarino/lanni
Mazzie,
As far as I know it's not common, they have changed the spelling though to Lannie.
My 92 year old aunt would be able to provide further information.
I guess a quick look at the BT search for the surname will give you a better clue, I've met some of them, and I can pass on the link to them ...

Re: Cascarino/lanni
Mazzie,
Some of my relatives are named Lanni by marriage, they were also from Cassino but settled in Birmingham UK.
The surname still survives, and they are still living in Birmingham.
The oldest living relative is I think 92, she married a Lanni, she and her descendants could be related.
If I can ...

Carolina Laurentini
General help question please
My GGrandmother's name was Carolina Laurentini.
There doesn't appear to be any history of use in the family of the name Carolina, but Carolina as a forename seems to be relatively common in the late 1800's in Italy.
Do any members have an insight as to why it was popular ...

Re: Decieco, DeCieco,deCieco
I have a relative with DiCicco or De Cicco in their tree, but they descended primarily from Monte Cassino in Frosinone.
The DiCico's first came to Wolverhampton, in the UK. Later moved to Walsall UK.
Any connection? let me know and I'll share more.

Re: Polsinelli,La Rocca,Lombardozzi and Tuzi from Sora.
Wow...you've gone back pretty far. My grandfather Luigi Polsinelli married my grandmother Vincenza Gismondi. I have the Polsinelli name on both of their lines and the Tersigni name on both sides as well. Go figure! Also, I've been able to trace my Gismondi line back to Pescosolido. The oldest one ...
