Re: WWI-Grande Guerra

I have the name of Pietro's mother and date when she went to Brazil. She almost certainly got married in Brazil. So, Pietro was born in Brazil too.
Suanj, as first generation, he was probably considered Italian so he could fight for the Italian army.
One option is that he went to USA after the war ...

Re: PIETRO SACCO - CATANZARO-CALABRIA

Hi,
as you said, he went to Italy by 1915/1916.
And never came back.
He got in touch with his family in Brazil after that.
As his parents were from Pizzo/Catanzaro (father) and Treviso/Veneto (mother), I think that he probably went to one of those places.
One of his sisters (Rosa Sacco) was also ...

Pietro Sacco went to Italy to fight the First World War and never returned to Brazil.
I ...

Re: Sacco and Valotta

Hi Christine,
Just now I found my Gran-Grand-father in Pizzo. It's about 50km. from Castagna-Catanzaro.
In fact, I'm looking for the other connections of my family.
We have to consider that the name Sacco is very common in Italy, but in that region of Calabria I believe many of them are related.
My ...
