My appt with the NYC Consulate was Sept 7. At the appt, I was told I needed a different certificate which I provided on Oct 8. On Dec 30 I received an email that I was approved and could apply for an Italian passport. Good luck!

I traveled to Sicily to obtain my great grandfather's birth certificate when I did not receive it by mail. However, I just noticed that it is stamped in Italian that it is only valid for 180 days after receipt. My appointment with the NY Consulate is in September, way after the certificate expires ...

Does the letter of exemplification and notary certification need to be translated into Italian or just the certificate?

I'm about to apply to amend my great grandfather's death certificate to correct the spelling of his last name and date of birth to match his Italian birth certificate. I was wondering if I should also amend to change his death certificate to show Giuseppe instead of Joseph?

One more question please--you all have been so helpful. Will the church have a copy of birth certificates or only baptismal? I still need my great grandfather's birth certificate for dual citizenship. Since the Palermo comune wrote they have no copy and only mailed the marriage certificate, I don't ...

I received my great grandparents' marriage certificate from Italy. However, my request was stamped that they had no record of a birth certificate for my great grandfather. He was born in San Lorenzo Palermo. Is there another location or comune that I can request records? Also, if I wanted to located ...

I'm trying to obtain my great grandparents' marriage and birth certificates for citizenship. The naturalization papers indicate they were born in San Lorenzo Palermo. Do I write to the Palermo Comune for the records or somewhere else?
