Re: Help reading a line CENSUS
You've been great! I really do appreciate all your time looking at records with me. I'm searching now for birth records for Paul's children that came to Michigan with him.. and it's strange that I can't definitively find ANY of them. Is this normal? maybe records have not been uploaded to the ...

Re: Help reading a line CENSUS
So was Paul and Philomene of the same household? I though it said they were each "single". Is there something I'm missing in this census? How can you tell who is in each household?

Help reading a line CENSUS
I found a census from Canada with who I think are my great-great grandparents on it. His name is Paul Lafreniere, and hers is Philomene Chameau. The ages are so close, and the fact they are on the same census makes me want to believe that its them. Im having trouble confirming this because I know ...

Re: French-Canadian Ancestry
I just went through and looked at all the images for 1851 Beauharnois / St. Timothee and didn't find anything either. Thanks for trying anyways! Much appreciated.

Re: French-Canadian Ancestry
I don't have any Canadian records for Paul except that 1861 census I put in the first post, and I'm not %100 sure that's even him, I just think it is because Philomene is the next name under his although it says they are both single. I figured it would have to be one heck of a coincidence if that's ...

Re: French-Canadian Ancestry
This does! this confirms that this IS my Philomene and she was not born in NY. That's the definite answer I was looking for. Her parents names match. Thank you!
Now maybe I can enlist your help in discerning Paul's parents.. that's a mystery to our whole family.
Thanks again!
Jason

French-Canadian Ancestry
I've had great help here concerning my wife's Italian ancestry, and thought that maybe you folks could help with a problem I've had in my own genealogy. I'm half French-Canadian descent and the earliest known ancestor I can find is named Paul Lafreniere born about 1838 in Canada, and died in 1932 in ...

Gazzarini Passini
How would I go about finding a birth record from the town in Italy where the ancestor was born without actually going there? Im trying to find more information on Luigi Gazzarini who was born in Mercato Saraceno in 1889. From the records that are available on Ancestry.com it seems his fathers name ...

Re: Gazzarari Gazzarrini
So is Louis an Anglicized name for Luigi? So if maria came in 1920 before the marriage, she would've traveled under her natural name, correct?

The Census has E Lallo as a female.. but i don't think

Louis, Mary, Lucy, E Lallo is a coincidence when the ages coincide almost exactly with the birth dates i have. The ship records for maria and the kids show their crossing all happening at the same time, and this ...
