According to his WWI Draft Registration (12 Sep 1918) on Ancestry.com, Cosimo Caruso of 774 Madison Ave, Bridgeport, CT was born in Italy 5 May 1881. His wife is listed as Carmela Caporaso Caruso.

Thanks, Tessa. I've upgraded my Ancestry.com account and have access to the records now. It doesn't look like they're indexed, so I've been browsing the "Atti di Nascita". Easy enough to do when I know the birth date.

Am I understanding this correctly - Ancestry.com has birth, marriage, & death records from Avigliano? I've looked in the card catalog and haven't seen any.
