Re: Help with death record

Thanks!

The main church in Polizzi is written as Chiesa Madre. Could Parrocchia Madre be the Palermo cathedral? Do you really see Paolo near the church name?

Help with death record

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/41b ... 0ij4/1.jpg

I am guessing this is the death record of Carmela Genco, wife of Ignazio Natale, 32 years old, died March 1816, widow of Calegro Santo and Paulo Ferrara. Is that even close? Does it mention the name of the Church or city?

Re: Please help with letter

wow, thanks! The 3 names listed as his father's friends are connected. One is the brother of the Barone dell'Avanella, who lived in nearby Petralia Soprano, but died 2 years earlier. The other two married his daughters. I was wondering why such high nobility would sign this document as officials, an...

Please help with letter

Here is a letter from February 1830 about Vincenzo Ferrara son of the deceased Paolo Ferrara and deceased Carmela Genco (Ienco, Tenco?) of Palermo, who is marrying Rosa Mazzola, daughter of Santo Mazzola and Maria Sciacchiano. Paolo's profession is listed, it could be 'Servente'? It looks to be sign...

Re: Death of Carmela Ferrara Help

Here is the documents in the Allegeti, on the left hand side: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/ul4pb5ek2xttjnf/2.jpg The 4th item is the death of Carmela Genco in Ferrara mother of the groom. This is that document. I know the link I posted says she died in Polizzi January 21 1830, but there is no...

Re: Death of Carmela Ferrara Help

I am not going to argue who she is or isn't. I posted a long thread about her son's allegeti hoping to piece together their story but got no replies. Please reply to that thread after reading all the documents if you want to discuss who this is. Does this mean she died in the city of Palermo? Does '...

Death of Carmela Ferrara Help

I believe this is the death of Carmela Ienco (or Genco), wife of Paulo Ferrara, but I've never seen a document like this. The typed letters easy to see, but is it Latin or Italian or mixed? Does it say she die March 28th, 1815 at 30 years of age, daughter of Giuseppe and Antonina? I have her parents...

Re: Stanislaus Lipani Help Please

Thanks. How do you determine first, second, third wife etc? Are you sure there are no ages? I never can find either of these on my own.

Stanislaus Lipani Help Please

My translation is this is the death record of Magister Stanislaus Lipani, who died 16 Nov 1796. His father was Magister Hieronimi, dead at the time, which would be Jerome in English or Girolamo in Italian. His mother was Angela Giresi, and there is no mention of if she is alive or dead. Gandolfa DiB...

Re: Lima Death Record Help Please

Thanks so much. This clears up a lot. I assumed Vincenzo died young after having only 1 child, and the other Vincenzo Limas were different people in the town with the same name. He was 67 when his daughter was born!
