I just noticed that there is an additional date of 23 April 1908 in one of the bottom columns. He was confirmed in the 1st category on 28 July 1908 which is after that date so what does the April date represent? Thank you for your help! Thank you Livio! Is the underlined "a" between "Madd" and "Chiella" an initial for an additional name? Are there birth records for Postiglione on Familysearch or Ancestry? I can't find any there.

In fact I found the daughter on this next attachment but there is an odd notation on her entry and on 4 other entries on the page. It is only on female passengers and looks like "96a". Any ...

Thank you Erudita! That was quick! Yes, it was the "j" that threw me. I also thought the "r" was an "n" or "m".

Please help with profession translation

I have attached a birth record with a red arrow pointing to the profession of a witness. Please let me know what the Italian spelling is as well as the translation. I have REALLY tried to figure it out but can't. Thank you!
