I have his BC because I hired someone to contact the comune, not because it's an heirloom.
My concern is that it might appear to be two different people based on the January dates.
I do know the death certificate lists the same parents as the BC, but is that conclusive evidence? Especially since ...

Crescenzo from Casalicchio/Casal Velino
Hello. I'm seeking dual citizenship and have run into a snag. My GGF, Gennaro Crescenzo, has conflicting birthdates, and I don't believe that antenati has records after 1865.
What I thought was his birthdate, according to birth cert., marriage cert., and liste de leva, is 19 Nov 1872.
However his ...

Casal Velino records
Does anyone know if vital records from Casal Velino, Salerno are available online? I've found many comune records from Salerno at the antenati website, but nothing for Casal Velino after 1865.

Did women need to naturalize if their husbands already had?
In my research I've found naturalization documents for nearly all of my male ancestors, but none of the females. Is this because the Italian immigrant wives' status depended on that of their husbands?

Pisciotta records online
Does anyone know if Pisciotta records are available online? At the Antenati site, I find only records for the Stato civile della restaurazione.
For the other periods, would Pisciotta records be listed in another town?

You should see a small window on the upper left containing the image number. If you click on it you can type in a different number.

Cosenza records online
I'm looking for records from Verbicaro, Cosenza, online. On the Portale site, unless I am mistaken, records only cover 1800-1900. These are mostly the military draft, with some birth, marriage, and death records. Again, please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: LDS discontinuing microfilm rentals
The issue of publication rights may explain my question. I am a volunteer indexer for familysearch.org, and while I know most of the records I personally need are not indexed, my project choices never include records from those regions. So maybe this is why are they not being indexed?

Re: paternita' nn
I'm sorry my question was not clearer. The mother's name is listed. Would that mean the child is not a foundling?

paternita' nn
In the liste di leva, when paternity is listed as unknown (nn), can it mean that
father is known, just not recorded due to clerical error
or
the child really was "illegitimate"
or
can there be another explanation?

carabinieri in Cosenza
Is there a place to search records of carabinieri? I am looking for my great-grandfather, Ferdinando Nocito, b. 1874 in Roggiano Gravina. Parents Gius. Vincenzo and Maria Luisa Abate.
Thank you.
