Hi T.,
Her husband was Pietro Dimeco, b. 1902 in Nocciano, Pescara, my great-uncle. He's a hard one to find much on outside of his birth certificate, so I'm really trying to find out more of both of them. There is a note on his certificate about the marriage, which is the only way I know about that.

Can you identify this cathedral?
Hi all,
I found this picture recently in my parent's house. It's of my grandmother (right) and someone else I don't recognize. I'm looking for some help identifying this cathedral/church. It could be in the US, but I don't know how many domes like this there are here in the US. At first I thought ...

Re: Help me understand this bank receipt
That's pretty interesting Pippom and Mmogno. I thought I was good at detective work. You guys are amazing! I don't know if Giuseppe ever lived in Roma, he was born and died in Pescara as far as I know and would have been 70 years old at the time of this bank receipt. But who knows, any thing could ...

Help me understand this bank receipt
Hi all,
I found this receipt related to telegram/telegraph. Or maybe a bank payment or transfer? Angelo diMeco is my grandfather, Giuseppe diMeco is my g-grandfather. I'm mostly interested to know who this is too or from (my assumption is that it originated in Italy, where Giuseppe was at the time ...

Trying to decode a family photograph
Hey there Italian language decoders, I need your help! I found this old photo/postcard at my parents house today (See attached) IMG_20210111_161035435.jpg . I can get a few words (fratello, moglia, mille bacci a tutti!) but there's a lot that I can't get due to the handwriting. I believe it's ...

Finding a marriange record in Rome
Hi all,
So I've been working on research into this great uncle and his wife. They were, according to the addendum on his birth certificate, married in Rome in 1931. I don't know where in Rome, it doesn't have any more detail. I might be in Rome next month, and am wondering which Ufficio di ...

Re: One particula great-uncle who's not on the map
Hi Tessa,
Those are some good ideas, I didn't know about how the banns were required to be posted in the hometown of the groom, or that it was 6 months before. Unfortunately the Nocciano records online only go until 1930 at this point. I like the idea of writing to folks with the same last name in ...

One particula great-uncle who's not on the map
Hi all,
I haven't posted here in a while, but I've been starting to get into research again. I've been researching a great-uncle, Pietro DiMeco, who has been very hard to find info on. I have found his birth certificate, born in 1902 in Nocciano, Abruzzo. (Attached). At the bottom there is a note ...

Historical Societies in Italy
During my upcoming trip to Abruzzo in 2017, I would like to visit some historical societies in my grandparent's villages. (Nocciano, Popoli and Pescina). Do such places exist in Italy, as they do in many towns both large and small in the U.S.? And what would they be called in Italian? I haven't had ...
