don't you have to have a birth certificate to get on the ship and when you get off? I don't understand why or how they put another name on the manifest? I tried to search for the local church possibly could you tell me the name so I can write them?

yes I seen this which they changed it from son to foster. Don't know why they said uncle but I seen the manifest about 10 yrs ago, now I look and I cant find it.

I have seen this from another source. Would there be a Baptism record to look at? You don't get your child baptized and say you don't want your name on it. Would that even be possible? Where would I look for that or what church would I write to??
