Does anyone know more about this simple fable or folk saying ?
My Tuscan step-grandfather once told a fable about three European wolves. Each one held some meat in their mouths and when each was asked what they had, they answered in their native language, with the italian wolf proven superior.

Other possibility, Quietone. Appears in Caserta records on Ancestry but not when I searched google.

Yes, thanks ! My ancestors were Casertan macaroni makers , millers, and pizza makers, so I included in my tree several illustrations of open air macaroni making and munching like those you shared.
