Re: trying to confirm ggggparents

Thanks for the birth dates.

Any idea why Pellegrino and family went to Morcone? Are there any records in Morcone that would help me such as land purchases or inheritances?

Coal miner in W Virginia

My grandfather immigrated from Italy to work in the coal mines in Elkins W Va. I can't find any info on him until he appears in N Y some years later. Does anyone know who to get in touch with in Elkins that may have info on him while he was working there?

Translation of birth record

Hi,
I have located the birth record of my gggrandmother, Costanza Scrocca, born June 2, 1831. I am assuming she was born in Colle, Benevento however I cannot understand what was written as her father's domicile. Can someone please translate the complete birth record so I can study the Italian ...

Re: place of death of Antonio Ciarlo

Is there anyone out there who knows what it means when you die at the Presideo in Naples. Was this man a soldier or a prisoner?

place of death of Antonio Ciarlo

I have an ancestor named Antonio Ciarlo born 22 April 1697 Pontelandolfo, and died 1764 Presidio di Napoli, Napoli. Does this imply he had something to do with the Italian Army at the time of his death?

Also Angelella Polletta, born 26 April 1641 in Pontelandolfo, died 1691 "Villa in Campagnia alle ...

Re: Help with death act of Nicolangelo Iacobaccio

Thank you so much.

Would you mind telling me how you found the correct act? I am always having trouble. I looked at the index (last few pages) looking for the name and the act # next to it and I'm always wrong. What am I doing wrong?

Help with death act of Nicolangelo Iacobaccio

Hi,

Can someone please transcribe the death act from Antenati- Benevento- Colle 1848 Image #34 Act 63. It should be for Nicolangelo Iacobaccio born 1794-1796, wife Libera Pizzella. Does it give any more information I could use such as his parents names? I find it difficult to read. Thanks.

Re: Trying to complete my family tree

Thank you bbivona for your detailed reply. I wasn't navigating the site correctly. I was looking under Colle Sannita not Colle. I retraced your steps and found the acts but had difficulty reading them. With your instructions I'll continue researching and I hope I'm successful.

I want to let you ...

Re: Trying to complete my family tree

I answered earlier however I do not see the post so I'll try again. I went on antenati site and could not find anything for Francesco Iacobaccio or Costanza Scrocca. Neither could I find anything on Nicolangelo. Two of Costanza's children were married in the US so no birth date of her and Francesco ...
