I have reached a roadblock on the potential connection between a Frank Naso (born approx 1870) and Alfonsa Naso (approx 1871-1952). I think the families are connected but cannot find a set of common parents or other connecting family members.
My mother side of the family is Baio (grandfather)-Naso ...

Re: Marriage record Felice Montebello & Angela Strazzeri
Well I'm sitting in a hospital room in Myrtle Beach SC (passing my time) and would really like to know what my father's grandparents marriage record actually says. I've tired various forms of Italian-English translation programs but I'm just not getting the cursive spelling correct.

Re: Marriage record Felice Montebello & Angela Strazzeri
If anyone could translate the actual text of the marriage record, I would greatly appreciate it. I'd like to give this my sister who is at age 84 interested in our Sicilian family history.

Re: How to obtain birth and marriage from New York?
Here is a good place to look for an example of how much trouble it is to get anything from NY...I'm not sure if marriage certificates fall in this list also. But I know birth and death certificates are difficult.

Marriage record Felice Montebello & Angela Strazzeri
Possibly I will find out more about my Grandmother Angela Strazzeri (not sure on the correct spelling here) if someone would translate these marriage records. With my grandfather being a foundling; I am hoping my grandmother's side of the family can be located.

Orphan and dual citizenship
Thought I had a relatively easy dual citizenship situation (me-Father (born in US)-GF), but I come to find out GF is an orphan with a recorded birth at one day old with a given first and last name.

Re: Felice Montebello translation
So from this translation, the child was abandoned (or a foundling) and both a first name and last name were given to him?
Amazing. Our family lore said the name "Montebello" was selected by my grandfather when he came to America to get away from his parents. Which is all untrue.
