Re: Help with Sicilian birth record -Sabatino

Thanks for your continued help Tessa!

No.. Guiseppa Bausone was born on Nov. 2, 1832 to Fernando and Maria Anna Tedesco. She is the older sister.

Re: Help with Sicilian birth record -Sabatino

I cannot find the marriage record of Francisco Paolo Sabatino to Marianna Bausone. I looked at years 1852 through 1850 in Alimena as well as Bompietro.

I think I might have found Francisco's birth record in 1822 in Bompietro.
He was a twin!?

Re: Help with Sicilian birth record -Sabatino

Wow Tessa! So much information to process. Molto Grazie!

I've only been at this for a little over a month, so reading the handwriting is coming slowly.

I found Maria Anna's birth record. Maybe you can help with that as well? I can't make out her mother's name or age.

Re: Help with Sicilian birth record -Sabatino

Thank you so much Tessa!

I agree... it looks like Bausone in the birth record. That is not a usual name for this area and I can't find any other Bausone's from Alimena.

Look at how it is written in the index...

Help with Sicilian birth record -Sabatino

This is the birth record of my great grandfather, Domenico Sabatino born in Alimena, Palermo in 1855. I got here from the index... there is hardly anything recognizable.

Can anyone make out his father's name, age, etc.? The info on his birth record doesn't seem to match his marriage certificate ...

Re: Does anyone in your family speak Italian?

I am 1st generation American. My Dad immigrated with his family from Sicily when he was in his teens. My Mom's parents met in the US, but went back to Italy for an extended visit. My Mom was born in Chiavari and came to the US when she was 2yo. Both my parents spoke Italian but wanted their 5 ...

Help in researching mysterious grandfather, Carlo Alberto Scandolara

My maternal grandfather, Carlo Alberto Scandolara, always proudly told me he was born in Milano. His birthdate is August 11, 1886. He died in 1984, almost 98 yo and had amazing mental acuity till the end. I can't find when he came to the US, he might have smuggled aboard and entered illegally. He ...

Re: Translation please of matrimony record

Thank you Livio!

But I question that Maria's mother's last name is Salvinetti. Doesn't look like that.
Any other guesses as to what the last name is? Sauguinet?

Re: Translation please of matrimony record

Can anyone help with translation of this record? I've had a lot of trouble finding information on my grandfather. He listed these people as his parents. I've found records of their other children, but not him. I'm hoping to find something here to help in my search.

Translation please of matrimony record

I was so excited to find the marriage record of my great grandfather and great grandmother.
I would be so appreciative if someone could translate it for me. I got some of the basics but most of it is lost on me.
Thank you!
Marisa
