Re: Giccominato, Giuseppe (Francofonte, SR) Carabinieri
oh that's a good start Pippo, thanks Pippo.
It seems perhaps the two brother partnered up with the two sisters.
The line beneath her, is Rosario Giccominato which is my nonno.
I noticed the surnames was spelt incorrectly as well - GiccominatA

Re: Giccominato, Giuseppe (Francofonte, SR) Carabinieri
Hi all, trying to get back in to the digging of the history.
I'd love to find out what happened to my bis nonno's two brothers - Paolo GICcominato (born 1899) and Alfio GIAcominato (born 1889).
All i have I have to work with is Paolo's birth certificate attached. However, I haven't had any luck ...

Re: The Pelligra Family history
Was anybody able to make sense of the year Giuseppe Pelligra (the one who died in 1833) was born?

Thank you all - you’re actually the best - you’re efforts are beyond words, thank you so much.
I’ve been furiously adding to the family tree and so far the Pelligra line looks as follows.

Re: The Pelligra Family history
Thank you so much Angela and Tessa, I really appreciate your efforts.
I've tried looking over these documents and even some the church records - they are just beyond me in terms of comprehending what they say.
Hopefully one of you have much better luck than me finding another clue!
Adrian

Re: The Pelligra Family history
I just tried finding Giuseppe's death record between 1820 (as that was the earliest I could access) and 1869 as that was the year his son died and which stated he had already passed.
There were a few years i found difficult to search though and I have an untrained eye, so I may have missed it.

Re: The Pelligra Family history
Thank you so much Angela, you're a gem as always! I don't know how you can interpret these records, it is so difficult for me compared to the others i've come across.
I wonder then if there's any way of locating any records on Giuseppe Pelligra (Gregorio's father)?

That's great, thank you both so much.
Tessa, I don't know how you managed to interpret the record from 1871, it was so faint for me!
I tried finding Giuseppe's birth record given he would have been born between 1840 - 1842 given his son Gregorio's record stating he was 30yo at the time. However ...

Successful visit to Carlentini cemetary
Unfortunately, his father Alfonso is not buried there.
He may be in Naro or another town.

Re: Giccominato, Giuseppe (Francofonte, SR) Carabinieri
Today I finally arrived in Francofonte and visited the cemetary.
It was successful as I found Guiseppe’s burial record!
He died on July 25, 1945.
Unfortunately there was no marked grave stone as apparently they moved his grave many times and the records are not kept perfectly.
The book you can ...
