Re: Cause of Death Needed

Lol, duh. I thought maybe the Act of Birth indicated an issue during birth or ailment that you were able to see but this makes perfect sense. Thanks!

Re: Cause of Death Needed

No, they are not.
Causes of death are very very rarely revealed on the death acts, almost never.
You could find them in the supplements if the death occurred in an hospital or outside their residence. But that also varies from municipality to municipality.
Also, these supplements are not always ...

Re: Surname "Scimia"

Hello,

It’s ok Giovanna is the one you’re looking for.

Domenico only declared the birth as head of the family, having the mother given birth in his house and because Carmine was away and confirms that Carmine and Caterina are the parents.

Well done!

Giovanna was born on 11 March 1894

Me ...

Re: Meeting Distant Relatives in Italy

I think the reality is that most Italians regard Italian-Americans as Americans and they don't feel any more affinity towards you than they would towards an African-American.

As American myself, I find it very peculiar that so many Americans are so fascinated with their Italian heritage at a time ...

Re: Surname "Scimia"

This is AMAZING. Thank you so much for finding this and putting it together. It has already helped me piece many things together.

If you don't mind me asking, in your opinion, what would be the best method for me to find Antonio's siblings (Carmine and Caterina Scimia's other children).
