Re: Italian names?
Vincenza is the feminine of Vincent. I don't know if there is really any American equivelent. Perhaps Vi.
Re: Italian names?
The only conversion I could find was VINCENTIA ? But what???
Thank you for responding.

Re: Italian names?
Vincenza is shortened a lot to Enza. There really is no equivalent in English. Vincenzo, the male version, is often called Jimmy although it is formally Vincent. i don't know what the feminine version of Jimmy would be either. Sorry.

Re: Italian names?
I don't think there's an equivalent, but my great grandfather used to call my great grandmother Jennie, and thats how she's listed on census records.
Researching Pennella, Liuzzi, Bottini, Casella, LaPosta, Defeudis, Gaudet, Gallant and Parant.
Re: Italian names?
I have heard Cenza and Enza used often ... My great grand mother was listed as Venice on the 1910 Census!
Re: Italian names?
I remember calling my great aunt, Aunt Vinnie.

Re: Italian names?
I don't know why Vincent would be Jimmy but my grandfather was named Domenico and family and friends called him Tommy. Maybe the did it just to sound more american.
