naturalization of GGF

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

naturalization of GGF

Post by helpplease »

I have been running searches with very little sucess for some time now and am looking for any information on a date or case # of my GGF Vincenzo Cataldi born May, 7, 1885 in Palermo. I have been looking at Census data but could not find him in the 1930 one. I found the 1920 when he was still an Italian citizen and then in the 1940 one says that he had naturalized but doesnt give any information about a case # or anything. They, Vincenzo and his wife Francis came over in 1914. If anyone could try and run a quick search or could point me in a good direction that would be so helpful; I am trying to at least get a year so that I can fill out my G-1040 for them to get the case #. Thank you all for your help! you all are amazing and Happy Easter a few days late! Mike :D

The link provided by pink67 provides both the Declaration of Intention Number and the Petition Number. With this information, it it likely that you can obtain the preliminary naturalization documents at the NARA office on Varick Street in NYC.

If you are looking for this information for purposes of obtaining jure sanguinis citizenship, the NY consulate requires only these documents.
