HI....

Been a while but think we have been in touch before.....my ancestors from Casacalenda as well. Some Vincelli's in the family and some of the Miozza cousins married into the Di Lalla line.

Still have all the birth records from 1809-1900 on permanent loan as well as death records thru 1835....in case you need additional information. Let me know if I can help.

Hi,
I just recently found out my mother was adopted. She was the 4th child born to Maria Vincelli in 1944 in the Larino area. Maria had 3 other children with her husband (I don't know his name, only surname Vincelli, and I don't know Maria's maiden name) who was killed in a hunting accident. Maria and a prominent Obstetrician/Gynecologist Doctor Francesco "don Ciccio" Ricci who she worked for had a relationship and got pregnant with my mother, who was put up for adoption at birth because Maria died during childbirth. The Dr. apparently was 71 years old when he fathered my mother. We assume he had his own family with grown children at the time, but not sure if his spouse was deceased at the time of this union between him and Maria. We have some info on him thru research my brother has been doing with records depts. in Italy. Apparently the Ricci family in the Casacalenda/Campobasso area is still a very affluent family and they own Villa Borzillo near Rome which is an upscale catering hall. I am curious to know if anyone is familiar with anything about Maria or Francesco. It seems we have more info on him. My mother did meet her half siblings once when they went to Bonefor to meet her as a young girl of 9 or 10 years old, and they were in the 17-19 year old range. Because my mother was so young she had no way to keep in contact with them, and frankly her adoptive mother probably didn't want them to have contact for fear of them "taking her away" as she told me.

Hi All,
My grandmothers family is from Casacalenda. I have been stuck on a few people.

I have her father as Gustavo Caluori born 11/6/1886, his father may be Sabatino/Settimo Caluori and mother Louisa/Luisa Ianieri. I can't find any other info.

I have her mother as Antonette Marzitelli born in NY 5/19/1892 to Michele Marzitelli & Angelina Tata.

Any help would be much appreciated. I have all of them living in Providence, RI in the 1900s.

This

is the marriage of Michelarcangelo Marzitelli and Angela Maria Concetta Tata on Nov 9th, 1878.
They might be Antonette's parents.
Michele was 24, a peasant, born and living in Casacalenda, the son of Giuseppe and deceased Mariantonia Ianniruberto
Angela was 16, a peasant, born and living in Casacalenda, the daughter of Onofrio and Incoronata Di Lalla

I've not found Gustavo's birth yet, it doesn't seem to be in 1886.
This might be a brother of him:

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

The record says Settimio and Luisa Ianiri were not married at the time (1893)

According to this census:

Gustavo arrived in 1904, but I can't find his shipo manifest. Do you have it?

And this is his birth record in Montorio dei Frentani on Oct 6th, 1886:

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Birth was declared by Luisa Ianiri, who said the child was born "of a woman who doesn't want to be mentioned", and also declared to be ready to raise him. Witnesses were Eugenio and Settimio Caluori. The child was given name Gustavo Severo and surname Caputo. As I said in my other post, Luisa and Settimio were not married, so, that would explain this fact. He was probably recognized successively.

This might be Settimio's death record:

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 3.jpg.html

Settimio Olindo Maria Caluori passed away on Dec 6th, 1894, while hospitalized in a mental hospital in Nocera Inferiore.
He was 54, a forest ranger, born in Montorio dei Frentani, residing in Casacalenda, the son of deceased Tobia and Mariangela De Rensis, husband of Enrichetta Carfagnini (this would explain why he could not recognize the children he had with Luisa).
