Are you looking for an Italian surname? Do you need more information about your family heritage?
This is the right place to start your genealogy search.
Actually, I think that is a great find. Knowing the exact date of death and the name reported, you should be able to get a Louisiana death certificate (see my earlier post). You should do this as soon as possible, because the request will have to be made in Donald's name:
You may obtain a certified copy of a death certificate if you are the surviving spouse of the person named on the document, parent of the person named on the document, adult child of the person named on the document, sibling of the person named on the document, grandparent of the person named on the document, adult grandchild of the person named on the document, or the beneficiary of an insurance policy of the person named on the document (unless otherwise authorized by LA R.S. 40:41).
I found a marriage record abt a Donald:
Year Month
1953 8 bride: CANTONE, THERESA ANGELINA
groom: JOHNSEN, DONALD JOSEPH
parish Orleans
Page: 2315 Volume: 0
it could be the marriage record of Svend's son?

How did I miss that? Ancestry's search tool still stinks, in my opinion...
So, the origianl question is answered in this tree. Svend's wife was Antoinette Valenti, born in New Orleans on September 22, 1904, died March 1, 1995.
Eric, if you don't have access to Ancestry . com, I can contact the Family Tree "owner" on your behalf and ask her to contact you directly. Let me know; send me a PM with your personal email if you would like me to go ahead. The tree is listed as "Jill King Family Tree" if that means anything to you. She appears to be the daughter of a female child of Svend and Antoinette.

My hobby is finding things. Having found most of my own, I am happy to help others find theirs. PM me!
I do not have access to Ancestry.com. I do know that Jill King is one of my cousins. I can contact her and try to get the information. I did not know she had started a family tree.
I am going through the websites your provided and still can't find anything. I can find some similar to him, but alot of the searches contradict what I already know. I am going to keep looking.
It was spelled Jonsen in Denmark
Svend had a brother named Seir, not a sister. He apparently was an Admiral in the Danish Navy. He possibly could have been married to an Ella and had a son named Berger. I still can't find much on him.
One of the most fun things that I discovered in my research was finding my look alike ancestor, Prince Marino Caracciolo II. Don Marino descends from the Caracciolo Rossi family, one of the oldest families in Naples, that date back to 950 AD. He was born in Atripalda on 9-6-1587 and died in Naples o...
