Believe my grandmother's surname was Diazzo or something to that spelling. She was born in Dentecane, Italy. Can you help me? Her name was Annina, her brother was Vincenzo and sister Lucia.

Re: Surname of Diazzo
Hello Donna.
Dentecane is a frazione of Comune di Pietradefusi, Provincia di Avellino, Regione di Campania (Southern Italy).
I did a quick search of the Italian telephone directory ( http://www.paginebianche.it/index_en.html ) and was not able to find any Diazzo's or variants of that name. Hopefully someone else will offer some likely suspects.
Did your grandmother emigrate to the US? Can you give us some idea of her date of birth and, if she came to the US, where did she settle. What was her husband's full name and year of birth?

Hi mj
Found D'Azzo in Naples as well.
Would help if we had approximate year of birth, name of husband, and US residence...

Is it possible the name is Di Orio? It is mistranscribed as De Torio.
