Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy
Civil Registration Records, 1866-1939
The keeping of vital records for the unified Kingdom of Italy started in 1866. In the southern part of the country, formerly under the Kingdom of The Two Sicilies, it started in 1809 with the exception of Sicily in 1820.
This database contains births, marriages, marriage banns, deaths, allegati (enclosures or supplemental records), and citizenship records for comuni (towns) in the Sicilian province of Caltanissetta from 1866-1939. Please note, due to privacy laws of the Italian government, records that contain any information dated within the last 70 years cannot be displayed online. However, a copy or a certificate of the record can be requested from the local town hall...

Re: Caltanissetta Sicily records
Thank you vj for posting this. I'm glad i started on transcribing the Resuttano, Cl records from 1820 from the LDS library - so there's not much overlap. (Resuttano is in the Caltanissitta province)
If anyone else would like Resuttano, CL records prior to 1866, I am working on them and could get them from the microfilms I have reserved at LDS.
Thank you again for the information!!!
Joseph
