I'm hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. I am seeking information for
Anthony Joseph Mion
Born 20 Aug 1902
Died ?? Sep 1972
I believe he was born and also died in:
San Daniele del Friuli, Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
although he did spend time in the USA.
His father is Peter Mion who died in 1939 and his mother Elizabeth Violino who died in 1954.
Any help or direction to help me go back further and gain more info would be much appreciated. I've been searching for quite some time with no luck and am new to genealogy.

Hi mr/ms Carlsson.
As the learned Suanj suggests, visit the friuli in prin website he links to and you will find, by typing in the names Mion and Violino, and the luogo (location) San Daniele, the particulars of many potential ancestors bearing those names.
Italians of past generations frequently repeated forenames, so that makes it a little easier to get on track.
There is a publication of, I think, the Commune (Local Authority) of San Daniele which lists many of the emigrants of the area and the history of some of them. I have a copy in my garage somewhere (we've just finished renovations) and will find it tomorrow and look up the names you have given and let you know if I find anything. It's 12.50 AM here now, and a little late to go searching at the minute.
I can also tell you that my wife's aunt in San Daniele married a Gino Violino and he had a sister named Lisabetta. He was born circa early 1920's. Do these names ring any bells for you?
When next we speak per telephone to my wife's cousins in Friuli I will ask if they have any information on your Anthony and Elisabeth. I do know they have relatives who emigrated to the US, some of whom returned to Friuli. Friulani commonly do, their native land is beautiful.
Cheers.

Wow, grazie! Suanj and Obelix for your help
The information is very helpful. I'm actually searching for a close friend (John D. Mion) who was not having any success. I have been researching my ancestors in Sweden so offered to help. Anthony is his Grand-Father who unfortunately had returned to Italy and passed away before John was born. The names you listed do not sound familiar to him, but they are likely and a lead we will pursue.
Anthony married Elda Catherine Peressini in 1933 and had three children (Peter, Joseph and John L. ). He returned to Italy in 1968.
Grazie ancora per il vostro aiuto! (thanks to google translate
