I am hoping that someone here would be able to tell me some common regions for the surname Falesca or Delesco or some variation of that. This was my great-grandmother's mother's maiden name.
Attached here is an image with two versions of the name: the first from my great-grandparents' marriage certificate and the second from my GGM's death certificate. Her mother's name was Isabella, not Maria- the name on the first record is incorrect so ignore it. Isabella was born in Italy about 1876 and I believe came to the US approximately 1889 or so. She married Salvatore LaMoglia in 1893 and they had their first child in either 1893 or 1894. My GGM, Maria LaMoglia was born in Pennsylvania in 1895.
I am having immense trouble finding Maria's birth info from Pennsylvania, so I am hoping to find out more about her parents who immigrated from Italy.
Could anyone tell me, first, which is the likely name? The first looks like Falesca and the second looks like Delesco or Delisco. Then could anyone tell me what areas in Italy this name would commonly be from? I have a feeling they are likely from the Calabria region but I have no evidence of that.
I appreciate any help!
Joey
