Thank you for the links Erudita and especially the Neopolitan dialect link. I've been looking through this, recognise some of the words and am feeling quite nostalgic - my bestfriend's mum would speak to us in Neopolitan. I had to smile when I saw the word “guaglione” for boy (our word was similar but we dropped the “g”. There was a song called “guaglione” by four muscians (Marino Marini) which, along with their other songs, use to get a lot of airplay at home when we had visitors, probably decades after they was first released. They never seemed to date.

Hi Angela
So happy you had use for something concerning the Neapolitan dialect, and that it brought back great memories for you. There really is a lot of interesting info out there in cyberspace, if you find the time to search for it.
