My grandfather was Antonio De Palma of San Bartolomeo in Galdo. Attached is part of a document and I am having difficulty figuring out a prefix? to Antonio. Could anyone help clarify what this is?!
This (partial) document has information about my father's birth.

I read: De Palma Don Antonio. "Don" is a title given to prominent people in the village or town.
