"Processetti (marriage of Silvestro Squarserio and Anna Rosaria Odoardi) http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 9.jpg.html
Image 81 Birth extract of Silvestro Squarserio, Dob 1813 Dec 31, in Turrivalignani. Father Domenico, aged 37, mother Nicola Dolci aged 28"

Just some thoughts:

From what Livio has written here, and also from looking at the Birth Extract included in the allegati, Silvestro Squaserio was born in Turrivalignani not Alanno. Have you tried looking in the Turrivalignani death records? He may have died in Alanno but the record may have been sent back to his birth town. It would appear in part II.

The other thought I had was to look at the allegati for the children's marriages. I have looked at both Domenico and Maria's marriage allegati but unfortunately Silvestro's death record wasn't there. It is more likely that it would be amongst a son's allegati but unfortunately it wasn't.

Anyway just some thoughts.

Actual Birth Record: Silvestro Squarserio

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Actual 1813 Birth Record Turrivalignani No 37: Silvestro Squarserio
Parents: Domenico Squarserio, 37 yo, contadino e MARIA Nicola Dolce, 28 yo contadina

PG: I wouldn't entirely rule out that the Death Record that you have found is your Silvestro Squarserio. I know that the age is 10 years out, but maybe the declarants of the record didn't know his age or maybe the clerk wrote it down wrong. (One of the declarants knew Silvestro but we don't know how well.) The record says that Maria Nicola's surname was NOT known to the declarants.

What might be a lead for you is the place of death. The 1866 death record here says this Silvestro died in his home situated at Contrada Colle Grande. Look back on all the other records you have showing your Silvestro's residence and see if they match.

Just some more thoughts for you to mull over.

Thanks. I could accept the death of Silvestro in 1866 – his age is one thing, but when the parents are not right either, it is questionable. So, I think I will put them aside for a few days. Starting next week, I should be able to get to a Family History Center, and possibly Boston’s Public Library, and see what types of resources they have that might complete what is online.
Thank you for your help in digging into this and giving me food for thought. Peonygirl :D

I totally agree - there are a lot of discrepancies that would suggest that this is not your Silvestro Squarserio (and there is also no mention of a wife on this record (or in your Silvestro's case two).

If you have been using the indices to check the records, and not going through the records by record, then the other possibility is that your Silvestro Squarserio's name may have been missed from the indices. This does happen.

All the best with this, it's frustating I know. Good idea to put it to the side for now and work on something else where you are getting positive results.
