Names on a Baptismal Record
Would someone please translate this record. I am not sure of the name of the infant and his parents. Thanks so much. It is the last record on the page.

Re: Names on a Baptismal Record
Thanks again, Erudita. Was it common for children to be born with that many names?
Re: Names on a Baptismal Record
I don't know how common it was in general, but I've found this to be the case in many of my own church records. I've also found that, when those same individuals then appeared in later civil records, often only one of the given names would be used, and the other names would not be mentioned at all. So I have an ancestor who was baptized in 1772 and given the names Gaspare Baldassare Melchiorre, plus his surname, but when he appears in the 1811 riveli (tax census records), and then in the civil records which start in 1820, he appears only as Melchiorre.italian059 wrote:Thanks again, Erudita.
