Neither of these is the document I was looking for, but instead the record for one (or two) of Joseph's children (sibling(s) to my 4th great grandfather, Francesco Gruppuso).
I have a couple of questions about the first record.
1) Is the baptized male or female? I'm having difficulty with the riser at the end of the word that looks to be "nata" and also at the end of the name of the baptized.
2) What does the title "Magistro" signify? Was the father of the baptized a teacher?
If the first record is for a Josepha, rather than Joseph then there must have been a Josepha that died young, because the second record is also for a Josepha of the same parents born 5 years earlier.
At least now I know that by 1755 Joseph Gruppuso was old enough to be having children.
I'd be thankful for whatever illuminating information you can provide.
Steve
