To correct an error... Vincenzo's birth act (that he presented) was dated 11 MARCH 1833, not May.Tessa78 wrote:Hi Pippo
It is the image (and following pages) on the right side - The Sentence of the Tribunale.
It is very faded and difficult to read.
It basically states that Vincenzo Provenzano appeared before the court to request the correction of his surname in the birth register from Provenzano to Perciavalle. He presented to the court the evidence of his parents' Solemn Promise of marriage on 24 August 1831, and his birth act of 11 May 1833.
Based on the first name of the father, and the correct name of the mother on the birth act, the court required a correction be made and entered into the birth register for that year (1870) of its decision ... that is #97 in the register that you originally produced. The court declared that an error was made by the clerk in recording the birth naming the father Giuseppe Provenzano, instead of Perciavalle. The court decision corrected this in 1870.

I am still inclined to believe that the error on the birth act named the father as Perciavalle, instead of Provenzano. Vincenzo provided no proof (records) that he was a Perciavalle...
