D and D2

On some documents I am seeing a D which is usually denotes the first born male and represents "Don"
I understood that the female of a Don would have Donna in front of her first name but is the shortening of Donna represented with a D2.....the 2 is usually upper right of the D. Just wondering????

Donna can be abbreviated with a D followed by a small letter "a" up in the air. You are probably misreading the small "a" as a number 2.
