Hi SassyCQ,

The 1906 ship record that suanj is referring to -is the one I linked earlier on.

Essgee and I were both wondering whether they did make that voyage in 1906. But the info on the manifest seems to fit.

I know you face challenges with your sight. If there is a manifest you want emailed to you, I can do so.

If you wish to research from film in the future, Vinchiaturo civil records do exist from 1910 to 1809.

Family History film can also be ordered and viewed at a library.

Please check with the library first.

Have you researched from a Family History Center? The FHC in my area also has high powered lens for better viewing.

Film information...
Italy, Campobasso, Vinchiaturo - Civil registration 1910-1809

you are awsome as I said. I am totally new to this and I can only go by your direction. This has got to definately be the family because they did live in the Weedville area and this is just too much of a coincidence. OK now how do I get birth death certificates from Italy. I am checking at the LDS center here and this info will help. They are only open two days a week for about 4 hours each time. I really do appreciate your help and anything I can do do help support this board please let me know.

Thanks CQ

mfjp,

I owe you all a great gratitude of thanks. You have accomplished here what I have been searching for for a year. I just happened on this board and I am so glad I did. The LDS library here is only open two days a week for four hours. The ppl there have been wonderful but don't think they are experienced as you. One lady helps me there but she is only there on Thurs. I will take all this info you have given me here to her and have her direct me from there. Thanks again and as I said if I can be of any help here please let me know I am unexperienced but I do learn fast.

Thanks again to everyone CQ

Well this is about the right year of birth for my grandmother although the census has 1873. But her mother is listed as Anna Vendito on one census and Anna Marano on the other. They seem to be following the italian tradion of naming as Joseph is Giuseppe after his paternal grandfather and there is a second daughter Anna which would be after the maternal grandmother so not sure about this one with the mother being Cristina.

What do you think......CQ

Sassy,

If you local FHC has limited hours, check with libraries in your area. Some larger ones, especially if they have a genealogy collection, are able to rent films from the LDS. I use a library near me for this as the hours are so much more accessible.
