This is what I'm understanding from the record, but I'm not sure if, where it says, “morto in Campagna,” it means “died in the countryside,” or, because it is capitalised, does it mean, “died in the town Campagna? It doesn't completely make sense:
Death Extract: Francesco Sansevrino
Church of S.Maria in Cielo Assunta, Sarconi: 9 October 1809
The deceased was Francesco Sansevrino, husband of Angiola Maria Lo Ponte of this town of Sarconi. He died in Campagna on 9 October 1809, killed by Brigands in the territory/area of Lagonegro, as reported to me …....

Re: Death Extract: Francesco Sansevrino
My interpretation is that he “died in the countryside” of Lagonegro

Re: Death Extract: Francesco Sansevrino
Thank you, Livio.
Yes, that was my intial thinking also, but then when I saw that it was capitalised, I wondered whether I was right. It didn't make sense to me though, because the town Campagna is in a completely different region to Lagonegro. It sounded like he died in two different places.
This is my 5th Great, and it is interesting because I've come across one other Death Extract, (but not relating to my history), in this set of processetti, where a man was killed on exactly the same day, same place by briganti. It would be interesting to know whether there is more to this story somewhere, and whether any other men from Sarconi were involved.
