Interpretation Of Death Record For Michele Ferrauto

Post by Belsitoj »

Hello
I tried to interpret this record and was hoping someone can help me interpret the rest. I believe this is my great great grandfather, Michele Ferrauto. If I interpreted the date correctly, he died on March 24, 1877. I see he is from Caltanistetta but I could not read what it said immendiately after the word Caltanistetta. I also believe his father is Ignazio and mother is Maria Giammusso??? If someone can help me the pertinent information I would appreciate it.
Thank you so much.
Joe

Michele died on the 23rd March [ieri=yesterday] and the death was declared and recorded on the 24th.
He was age 81, the son of deceased Ignazio, a property owner; and of deceased Anna Maria Giammusso, a seamstress. Michele was a blacksmith who was born and resided in "this town" [questo Comune].
Where you see Caltanissetta mentioned near the top is in reference to the official "per nati e morti" [for births and deaths].
He died at the house at Via S. Lucia #16
He was the husband of Albera Salami.

I apologize if I confused you...
The town is Caltanissetta. "questo Comune" (which is Italian for this town) is written on the line for his birthplace and residence. So he was born in Caltanissetta :-)
