Hello. I was hoping someone can help me interpret the Death Record for Maria Rosa Giunta. I believe her parents are Carmela Lombardo and Francesco Giunta. Thanks again in advance for your help. I really appreciate it.

Re: Death Record For Maria Rosa Giunta
Yes, that's what I'm reading too.
I'll just add some other details:
Death No 178: Maria Rosa Giunta, age 86
Caltanisetta: 22 March 1912, 9.30 am
She died at 8 pm yesterday (ieri) (21 March 1912) in a house in Via Giammaria, No 36? and was aged 86, a casalinga (housewife/domestic), born and residing Caltanisetta, daughter of deceased Francesco (Giunta), contadino, and Carmela Lombardo, casalinga who had both lived in Caltanisetta. She was the widow of Calogero di Luca.

Re: Death Record For Maria Rosa Giunta
Thank you for correcting my error, Livio. I'm not sure why I wrote "di Luca"????? That's a worry
I knew that it was Calogero Duca because I'd just translated his death record. Thanks again.

Re: Death Record For Maria Rosa Giunta
Thanks Livio and Angela. Sounds like more confusion between La Duca and Duca.
The link below shows that Calogero La Duca died on 4/6/1892 and was the son of Salvatore La Duca and Teresa Ippolito. He was the spouse of Rosa Giunta and his name is listed as La Duca.

As you stated in the interpretation above, Calogero's name was listed as Duca. I wonder if this record was a typo or do you think I have the wrong Calogero (although I doubt that because the wife is listed as Rosa Giunta)?

Re: Death Record For Maria Rosa Giunta
Hi Joe
Not an easy answer. It is not uncommon to see errors in these records. We see them all the time and especially in death records. We also see a lot of errors made in "indexed" records so you can't really rely on them. You can use them as a guide but you really need to site the actual source - birth, death or marriage record. In answer to your question it "seems" that you have the correct death record, but I would still be checking that everything else adds up as well. You may just have to put it to the side at the moment until you have found further records and are absolutely certain. That's what I do with mine.
